Jackson departing
Looking down the dock of the Herbert C. Jackson after unloading. The water truck had just washed the road,
giving the illusion in the harsh morning light that the Jackson is in the middle of the river.

William Warner
A victim of the green wave, the fuel barge William L. Warner sits idle in the Rouge River.
The Warner worked for years along Indiana Harbor and the Calumet River. Single hulled fuel tankers
are out of compliance with safety standards. It is unlikely the Warner will work as a tanker again.

The summer season is over so the Diamond tour boats are in lay-up in the Rouge,
one more obstacle the captain has to maneuver past on any given day.
