The Algontario returned to service in October 2004 after spending
nearly five years in extended lay-up at Thunder Bay.

Captain Jim Perkins has been appointed to the Algontario.
Captain Perkins began sailing in 1976
as a deckhand on the Algosoo.

The Algontario carries a crew of 19 and is a designated training
ship for Algoma Central Marine. AB's (Able-Bodied Seaman) and
MA's Mechanical Assistant) work on 180 day shifts as apprentice sailors.
Captain Mike Despotovich will be the Algontario's relief captain.
