The Inland Mariners: Special / Sea Service

The lifeboat from the M/V Federal Saguenay adrift outside of the Duluth entry after its motor malfunctioned.

Some of the crew of the lifeboat explain their dilemma to Captain Ed Montgomery of the pilot boat Sea Eagle, operated by
Sea Service of Superior.

The Sea Eagle prepares to assist the stranded lifeboat back to the stern of the Federal Saguenay. Captain Montgomery ties a line from the Sea Eagle to the lifeboat.

In a matter of minutes the lifeboat approaches the Federal Saguenay while the anxious captain and crew watch from the ship's deck above.

The lifeboat crew re-attaches the cables to the boat winch.

The lifeboat from the Federal Saguenay safely secured to the lifeboat crane as the Sea Eagle departs.
