The

E. Barker
|
The
steamer Kaye E. Barker arrives off of the Duluth entry on the 4th
of July. The Barker is operated by the Lakes Shipping Company, a
division of the Interlake Steamship Company of Cleveland. |
Upon
arrival at the D.M. & I.R. ore docks at Duluth the Barker begins
unloading the 19,000 + tons of limestone that were loaded at Port
Dolomite.

Once
the Barker has unloaded its cargo of limestone the vessel will shift
to Superior to load coal for the power plant at Marquette, Michigan.
|
The
patriotic paint scheme in the Barker's engine room was applied post
9-11. This image, captured on the 4th of July, appears timeless as
the vessel unloaded at Duluth. |
